Humic Acid
A soil conditioner derived from decomposed organic matter. Humic acid improves soil structure, helps roots absorb nutrients more efficiently, and is especially beneficial in sandy or compacted soils. It is not a fertilizer itself, but makes fertilizers work better.
Humic acid is extracted from leonardite (ancient organic deposits) or composts. It acts as a natural chelator — binding nutrients in the soil and making them more available to plant roots. It also improves water retention in sandy soils and helps loosen compacted clay soils.
Application: Available as liquid concentrate or granules. Often applied at low rates (2–4 oz per 1,000 sq ft liquid) alongside fertilizer. Can be applied any time during the growing season.
Benefits: Better nutrient uptake, improved root mass, enhanced water retention, healthier soil biology.
