Backpack Sprayer
A pressurized sprayer worn on your back with a capacity of 3–4 gallons. Backpack sprayers are ideal for treating medium-to-large lawns with liquid herbicides, insecticides, or fungicides. The backpack design distributes weight comfortably and reduces fatigue on large jobs.
Backpack sprayers hold 3–4 gallons of mixed product, enough to cover up to 4,000 sq ft per tank depending on application rate. They use a pump mechanism to maintain pressure — either a manual pump lever you work while walking, or a battery-powered pump.
Best for: Lawns 2,000–15,000 sq ft treated with liquid products. Spot treating large weed infestations. Liquid fertilizer applications.
Tips: Pump to full pressure before starting. Rinse thoroughly after use — residual herbicide left in the tank can damage plants during the next application.
